Post subject: My CCTV cat5
|
Ok this is annoying, I have just got a cctv camera that uses a cat5 connection that connects the CCTV Camera to a connection box that connects to a scart to plug into your tv.
Now I cannot find any way of getting my camer to connect to my computer so that i can save all 0of the footage on there and veiw it live from somehwere else. I have attached a diagram of the CCTV. Please can someone tell me anyway I can connect it to my comp?
It uses cat5 (A phone like connection)
and plug into tv via SCART
thanks
Kieron
ps i cant post a pic coz the forum rules say i cant

Most systems like that have the power for the camera built into the monitor. What you will have to determine is which wires carry video and which carry power. Then you can obtain a female connector and attach the power wires to a power supply and the video wires to a monitor or computer video card. Watch your polarities since those cameras usually use 9-12VDC.

The camera does not hook up to a computer! _________________ Scorpion

QUESTION: Why is there always enough time to go back and fix it right a second time??
