Ok, I'm used to "pinning out" stuff with a diagram. I have a customer who has an unknown variety (pretty sure Chinese) PTZ with an RS485 controller. CAT 5 has been run to the PTZ from the controller, but there are no diagrams etc to go on. Controller does not PTZ, but good video and PTZ does self test on power up. Standard BNC video, power and 2 wire RS485 connection from PTZ. On controller (another "plain wrap") is a 4 wire (2 in and 2 out) RS485 connector. I am stumped,as I am not too hip on RS 485 connections. I'd like to get it working for her if I could. Could it be the baud switches ? Or how exactly do you wire RS 485 ?? Thanks, it's driving me a little nuts....
