I have been using it for about three years with no problems. (small 12-20 camera set ups) If you are setting up small IP cam networks you should look into this firmware. I like it for the expanded functionality. It also is more reliable than the OEM firmware, although a 54GL running OEM firmware is pretty reliable. I think it is due to the amount of RAM on the router board compared to the latest 54G's. (This model router is like $40 at wal mart.) I was using the Buffalo WHR HP 54's till they got in their lawsuit. My newest mesh set up is using 9 Asus WL's and has been up for about 3 months with no problems. I did just update all the nodes to the V24 firmware. You can get them online for about $50 each.
