Hello all,

I recently purchased from DVR USA an LX series 16 channel PC based dvr. It is running Fedora 8, and uses what I think is an SDK version of neugents dvr software. Here are the issues!

I am running 4 gadspot sony ir cameras, belden siamese with good bnc terminations all around.

When the cameras switch over to ir at night, and dust floating in the air triggers the motion detection and recording starts. This is a real problem because when I put the sensitivity down to where the recording will not fire on the dust, then the motion is not sensitive enough to trigger when an unauthorized person is present.

Furthermore, it seems DVR USA is developing their own verson of neugents DVR software? They are running their own SDK, and I have to tell you I have had a host of problems. I have not had the DVR more than two months and they have already updated the software at least 3 times?

The object detection recording does not work as adverted either. The entire screen goes red with pixelation, and this shows up on the recorded image. Oh, and this happens when there is not even an object to be detected.

What am I after, no false alarms! Would be nice to have a video tripwire feature or detection zones that work as advertised! It is confusing because on neugents site their software seems to offer this. I do hope to get an answer from neugent directly on Monday. I don't have the money to dump into more expensive video analytics. I know I have been long winded. Any suggestions?

Cheers.
