Hi,

I'm a newbie cobbling together a home system. I'm using inexpensive wireless IP cameras, but I have a Bosch analog camera that I want to use, too, so I bought the Samsung SSC-010WB on eBay new (probably refurbed, though it looks brand new) for $20. It's a "Single Channel Web Transmitter." Accepts BNC in, has an Ethernet port, etc. I hooked it up and it works just fine with its included software, but I want to integrate it into my system.

Like most of these things, it has a cheesy interface built into it, but I'm just trying to get to the file that it creates (like the IP cameras that have the image at networkaddress/jpg/image.jpg, etc). I'll be using it with Visec software which works perfectly with all my other cameras...it just doesn't want to play with the Samsung because I don't have the address of the image it's creating. I've read the documentation, and of course it has no info about what I'm looking for. The device is supposed to be used unto itself...you plug the "monitor" output of your existing legacy security system into this box, and it lets you view your old system via the Internet. But again, I just want it to convert my analog camera to an IP camera. It seemed like a very inexpensive way to accomplish this goal. I know there are cards out there that do this, but I'm using a laptop for this system, so expansion cards aren't an option for me.

Does anyone have any experience with this Samsung product? Any help is appreciated.

And I know enough to know I'm working with also-ran equipment, here...again, I'm just cobbling a little hobby system together at home, mostly so I can keep an eye on the cats when I'm away. Smile

Thanks for your help.

-Craig
