Best setup for web attraction? - News Station?

Any suggestions for a “web attraction” setup.

I do not care if it uses active x or any other plug in.
Must be a PTZ.
I would like the local news station to be able to view it full screen.
DSL or Cable modem on the server side.

My biggest concern is the quality of the streaming video, smooth motion, and the ability for a news station to use it in there broadcast.

I was thinking of a PTZ with a Geo 250-4.

Is there anyway to use a ir remote on the remote client side to control the PTZ?

Can you view multiple locatoins on one screen with the geo control center?

Ok, how about a GV800-4

What are your thoughts on the iQeye

It says that it is HDTV but I do not belive it.

What about a Merit LinLin IP based speed dome, available quite cheap in the U.K. & probably vheaper still in the U.S.
If you need price PM me.

Is there a PTZ that does MPEG4? It seems to have the best motion when viewing remoteley.

these guys have some good MPEG4 Network Cameras and Servers:

Panasonic also has some good Network PTZ cameras, with Wide Dynamic, etc, but it is JPEG.
http://www.panasonic.com/business/security/network_cameras.asp

They have some consumer Network PTZ products also that are very inexpensive.

rory,

Have you used the ACTI product, it seems to fit my needs very well.

Do you agree that MPEG4 gives the best remote viewing?

Will 720x576 look good on a green screen like the weather guy on the news uses?

What do you think about usining there MPEG4 video server and a Kalatel camera :D ?

Yes from what I have been told, and have demoed. You can look at the Panasonic Day Night Wide Dynamic PTZ, with the Acti Video Server.

I havent used it, but have heard good things. Some of the IP guys on this forum may be able to help out more with that. I have a price list for Acti here somewhere ..
