I need feedback on Bosch Equipment
rory - 19 Jan 2005, 02:43 am
whats up DVR :-)
other, thats me, as for Phillips, used them before Bosch bought them out, cameras are good, but no need to switch from GE, though I have used their cameras and like them. DVR price is higher that GE with no extra features over GE to make it worth switching.

actually the Divar is going to be reduced this year, I already have the discounted pricing, i am still learning it, it has some downfalls and some major goodies, I was surprised...very suprised

We use quite a lot of their Intruder alarm equipment, especially the wireless gear- Class X|, we found it to be one of the best, excellent support and never had major problems with the components. I went to see their Dinion range a few months back, beautiful pictures, and they had their own sort of day/night technology which i was impressed with, only problem was price, they were talking over £160 for the basic body colour camera. One feature which attracted me to using it though was the up the coax configuration, which would be ideal for larger installs. Not to keen on the Divar, nothing special for the price they are charging, but then again i never looked at it properly.

Prices are not official yet Rorry, and it is up to each company to choose its margin, we got a discount from bosch but we also knocked some off our margin.

I called them once to verify some stuff for a PTZ protocol, they were pretty nice about it.

I think Bosch marketing is great. Over here, just tested their Eazeo observation system and really like the RJ11 idea, no need for power supplies, just plug the camera straight into the monitor, makes way for really neat installations! However the idea of a seperate nultiplexer and a 1 channel DVR is still a bit iffy and still having problems connecting remote view. Guys at Bosch have given us leaflets for each industry, Pharmacies, jewellers, Small businesses, Hotels, really cuts out the need to describe benefits. However, their equipment is a bit restricted, you'ev got the eazeo obseration- 160GB non expandable and then the high end bloody expensive gear the divar and dinion cameras, need something in between!

we dont have the luxury of reps down here in the Bahamas ..the only one i have seen so far is the Samsung Techwin rep just a month ago .. everyone else has forgotten us

I agree CCTV, they seem to have a bifg gap from high to low end, can you email me tose brochures i would liek to see them, must admit Bosch are insane with the amount of marketing material available
