has anyone used the CCTV LCD Monitors, not just a regular monitor, but the ones that are made as such by for example, GE Kalatel, they claim 500TVL. Speco Provideo also has some, and a couple others. Now, not just an LCD with an RCA Input, but the ones with BNC and designed for CCTV....

If so, how is the quality, compared to a CCTV Tube Monitor?

I have used other LCDs before with RCA and SVideo but the quality just sucks, They were standard Computer LCDs though. I have a quote and if the quality is good, I want to know whether it is worth selling them. Yes, even though their pricing is off the chain!

Most of the major manufacturers offer CCTV LCD monitors. Resolution is excellent and most of the come with standard 3 years warranty vs. tube monitors with 1 year warranty.

Typical Department store can have between (40) to (80) 9" & 15” tube monitors and that becomes a major problem, as the conventional wisdom tell you that all these monitors have to be stacked on top of each other. In the recent years, we are converting many of these security console rooms and replacing the old monitors with (4) 20" CCTV LCD monitors mounted to the eye level and by using articulating LCD mounts, you have a complete panoramic view of all the cameras and the domes throughout the store… Of course, they use (2) 17” call up LCD monitors for each of 2 security agents operating such systems… Not only this type of package is more cost effective, but very functional and even better – great video quality!

In particular, I am looking at the GE Kalatel LCD 20" and 15" Monitors.

I have used $350 Computer LCD Monitors before, with VGA convertors, but the quality is always very bad, I guess my question is, with something like the GE or similar monitor, is the quality much better than the Computer LCD Monitors?

Yes! GE's pricing is somehow higher than normal, but if we are talking about picture quality alone, then it is great!
