Hello,
Can someone explain the differences between a LCD CCTV Monitor and a LCD PC Monitor other than the obvious connector (BNC - Video).
I have noticed that there is a big price difference and was wonder why??
I understand there is a signal difference between the two but the price difference seems to be huge.
A little insight would be helpful.
TIA

they have a Composite to VGA converter built in .. other than that, they may use more expensive components for power etc.

Hi Rory,
Again just courious but if a 17" LCD PC monitor cost say $180 - $300 and a 17" CCTV monitor cost from $350 to $500 that is some awful expensive components in there.
Some days certain things just make you go hmmmmmmmmm???

I am developing a standard answer when asked "over the phone"
HOW MUCH???
My ansewer will be something like.
"I guarantee that it will cost less than $1/2 million".
Maybe I will modify that a bit with you in mind.
Version #2
"I guarantee that it will be less dan $1/2 million, mon".

i set up a DVR tonight with a Hanz 19" LCD with DVI .. not bad .. but its a Geo .. pC based ...
I found the LCD TV's to be better for composite than those CCTV LCDs though ... but i havent used all of them .. just saw a couple of them in service.

Rory,
I was wondering about that. I have put CCTV on a standard TV that had a video input. Side by side you could see the difference but by itself it was not to bad.
So is the resolution better on a TV-LCD that it would give a better composite picture??
Thanks

I dont know about lcd's but I know that with the plasma's the cctv ones have a significant difference in contrast ratio and look 100 times better.
