I have installed 4 channel kodicom DVR at my office and wathing it on my pc at home.
recently i purchased a new sony vaio laptop with ati radeon x2300 graphixs
my dvr client software is working but it has a peculiar problem it dosnt refresh the images automatically. if changes the images only if i click on it.
the same works on a older laptop (hp6120)without any images issues.

let me guess... you have vista

i'm unalbe to install my DVR remote software on 3 vista boxes... i was able to install it on a 4th after i disabled UAC and ran everything as administrator.

On my vista laptop i gave up an installed VMware and Run windows XP in a box and watch that way..

Gotta love Vista

i even installed vmware and installed xp on it still i got the same refreshing problem. then i formated the sony vaio and installed xp on it but to no use still the client softwar was not refreshing the images . my laptop configuration is core2 duo 2 GB Ram and ATI X2300 graphics 256 mb . i read somewhere that x series card is not supported by kodicom dvr card on the server end.

Could it be the internet connection or bandwidth issue?. You said it worked fine on your other laptop; was it connected in the same network area as your new Sony laptop?

now that i think of it and you mentioned video card.. i had an issue a while ago with the video card... try swapping out the video card for a different one... maybee older PCI-E card.. i just picked up a ATI 95xx for $70 and that fixed my issue on that box

i used the same internet connection (airterl braodband 128 kpbs)for the laptop and the pc. i dont use any switch or hub just the direct braodband adsl modem line. same internet connection with a old hcl laptop with intel graphics chipset worked very fine. I dont understand why the images are displayed but do not change (refresh automatically).

my dvr card works very fine. i face problem when i connect from a remote site with my new laptop (sony vaio with ATI x2300 256 Mb Graphiocs)

Then it must be the video card as destro_23 mentioned. If you give me your IP address I can try to connect from here and see what happens. I use ATI X1650.

I"m sorry... I was actually talking about the PC that you have the DVR installed on... what kind of video card does it have?

1st : Recommonded Video resolution is 1024 x 768 32 bit.
2nd : problem with the video memory!!

view single camera at a time and check whether same proble persists..if no prob.s proble is no.2 ; u can increse it thro' CMOS setup

what i faced with kodicom.
