I am an IT guy and not super in CCTV. A company I do work for has a old VHS system in place and would like to replace with a digital one. Here are their requirements;

Minimum 12 cameras,
Record on DVD
Internet Access to system. (They have Remote Web in place and operating already).

They have an HP with a DVD burner and PCI graphics card to use for the system.

What cards and software do you recomend?

Thanks,

Michael

First I would say no to the HP, heh, but I guess that is personal preference.....Make sure it has intel chipset on the motherboard and get a Geovision Card, which one depends on what frame rate your looking to get with the system

What is the spec on the HP?

Would you be happy with low resolution recording at low frame rate – a
few frames per second per camera– or is your requirement for something
better?

Other question you should ask is how much the company has spent on
installing 12 cameras and are they still up to the mark. If they are good
professional jobs then it is worth spending the money on a good recording
solution and getting value out of them.
