DVR alarm

hi, can the DVR card play a sound when someone is detected 2m away ?

Depends on the DVR and it's config.

It's not an uncommon feature on PC based systems but you must have a sound card and speakers plus the drivers installed. Geovision specifically makes this easy.

how does the DVR detect that someone is 2m away?

Use their feet on the floor, you'll have to premeasure and mark. You can use postit notes and then configure the DVR for the action you want taken. You may need to use a loop out to get it to process the feed totally different on another channel if you want to use the camera for normal MD recording too.

the DVR alarm works with motion detection which produces beeping sound from the PC speaker. How can I direct that to mp3 sound?

People need to know the answer to the question askd earlier, what drv/software are you using. Kindof impossible to give an answer without knowing your setup.
