So let's say we do this:

The show ends at 5:00pm on wesnday for the first day, so what I can so is that anyone that is interested in meeting up, PM me, and I will give you my cell phone number, and you can call me then.

let's see how many people are interested then

If anyone is in town, please let me know if you would like to come meet us here in Merrick, NY at our showroom.

516-868-3600 x 102

For future reference, we will be having 2 cctv dealer product trainings per month here in Merrick NY. Each class will hold 24 people. Some trainings will be on specific manufacturer products and others will be on cctv and networking (non manufactuer specific).

Also, let me know if anyone would like to administer a class at our showroom. Might be a good way for all too network, and learn at the same time. Let me mention that all trainings will be fully catered.

Regards,

Sal

qman - 25 Aug 2005, 09:14 pm
Ok people, just got back from the show.

TIRED AS HELL!!!!!

Will post pictures and updates later tonight, but in all honesty, it wasn't that good.

Big names, like BOSCH and SANYO where missing, but I did meet a couple of you, like SAM from powertellecom, and THOMAS, from VIDEOINSIGHT, and spoke to a couple of you on the phone, and also found out some interesting things, like who OEMS for who, and I got a BIG suprise, like who OEM'S for Extreme CCTV!!!!!
rory - 25 Aug 2005, 09:18 pm
noone oems for Extreme, they are the manufacturer ..
MetzLyov - 25 Aug 2005, 09:45 pm
Ok Rory... sure they are...

Like what we found out today on certain major brand too... right Herm?? :D

By the way, I have a meeting with them tomorrow and I am planning to drop this info on the table and see their reaction... It will be very interesting!

Thank man!

Levon
qman - 25 Aug 2005, 09:57 pm
HEHE, I think that there is going to come a time when all of the majors are going to hate me, lol.
scottj - 25 Aug 2005, 10:09 pm
There are very few companies in the US that are the manufacturer, most have their products OEM for them overseas. If they actually made the products in the US (or Canada such as Extreme), very few people could afford them. (thank Unions for high labor costs, Insurance companies for high premiums, and the US Govt. for high taxation). Personally OEM products are what keep the prices continually competitive, thus resulting in us being able to buy for example a bike for your kid from Walmart for 50 bucks. (We couldn't fab a bike like those for 5 times that price in the US).

Now if we could just get them to send their low cost women over here...The American ones are too high maintenance and pricey.

qman - 25 Aug 2005, 10:19 pm
Gee thanks, my wife just read this
scottj - 25 Aug 2005, 10:28 pm
lie to her Herm, I did to my wife for years...wait? She is my ex now...hmmmm I may on to something.
rory - 25 Aug 2005, 10:29 pm
Yes they make them right there in CAN ... it sais Made in Canada on all their cameras. I just took the camera apart that you told me about earlier, and its nothing like the WizKid, doesnt even come close, other than it has an off white base, though WizKid is true white, totally different material, solid. That one is made in Taiwan, has the asian type alan key (hexagon), and the guts are identical to the Ameba Domes I tested previously, but the housing is much cheaper and lighter.

Also that company you told me about earlier, is like Provideo, they purchase OEM gear from Asia and rebadge it, for example, they use WebGate Inc for their DVRs.
VJD - 26 Aug 2005, 12:00 am
Sorry I missed you Herm. :( Did you get my message?
DataAve - 26 Aug 2005, 06:18 am
Did you get to "ride" Sam's new Standalone DVR? Thanks for the call too. How long it take you to get home? Makes ya want to visit NY more often.
qman - 26 Aug 2005, 11:07 am
Well DATA, it only took me 50 min to get into White Plains. Once I got into the West Side High, I was crusing. Yes VJD, I got your message, but you didn't leave a call back number, so I couldn't get back to you.

Sam's DVR is not bad at all, I mean for the price level.
CSG - 26 Aug 2005, 10:03 pm
I was at the show on the second day. I noticed that Dedicated Micros and GE Kalatel were missing.

I thought $5.50 for a bottle of water from the Starbucks concession was kinda steep.

Thomas - 26 Aug 2005, 11:17 pm

MetzLyov - 26 Aug 2005, 11:59 pm
I really wish I was there to meet everyone that were attending the show just to talk over few beers or better yet, some good old american whisky.... But you guys had all the fun.... :(

qman - 27 Aug 2005, 01:43 am
Very true, but what about the pizza downstairs? $6.50 for a pesonal, 8inch wide pizza? and it tasted like crap.

This is New York.
MetzLyov - 27 Aug 2005, 03:59 am
Now you know why I did not go to any ISC show for the show alone in the last 15+ years.... :D

Levon
Thomas - 27 Aug 2005, 06:21 pm
Bah, four blocks north, one west is a nice little shop that sells slices.
DataAve - 28 Aug 2005, 07:29 am
Who eats at a show, especially in NY. Walk upstairs and outside. Same price, better food. You could have gotten a dirty water dog.
