Question about Geo-650 DVR card

Been reading around this forum for a while, and found answers to many of my questions.
Been running a 16 channel GV-650 card for about a year in an older computer, and it all worked ok, but it was kinda slow. Decided to upgrade to a faster PC:

Intel 2.8G proc.
Intel Motherboard D915GEV
1 gig DDR2 gam

Installed DVR card and version 5.4.0.1 Geo software, and the system works fine.

Then I installed Geo software version 6.1, and now an error message appears on the screen:

Micro-P version not compatable.
Please call your vendor to upgrade your HW.

Always must have a plan B!

Installed the GV-650 card into another system:

AMD 3700+
ASUS Motherboard AN8-VMUAYGZ
1 gig DDR ram

Same thing happens again. Works fine with SW version
5.4.0.1, but the same error message appears with version 6.1.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

You have an older version 650 board (V2). In order to run 6.1 and higher you need a V3 board with either the S1 chipset or a dongle keypro.

Yes, it is an older card. Guess I'll have to live with the older version of the SW.

Thanks!

Don't fret though, the 650 is a great value board. The nest value step is to the combo cards and they are quite a bit more money.

Ya, it works as advertised, and meets my needs for now.

I must have the older board too. How can I upgrade it?

I had the micro-p error after changing to an Acer AcerPower F1 PC due to the other system failing.

Thanks to this particular forum I changed from installing Geovision 6.1 to installing 6.0.5, which seems to work just fine.

Thanks for the support given to others. I know its been more than a year since this stuff was posted but a search found the answer here.

Thanks to Rory and the other founders for setting up the CCTV Forum in the first place.
