I've read a couple of references concerning the "sponsorship" of this forum.
Let me state that this forum is not sponsored by Pelco. Yes, there is currently a Pelco banner on top but that is because I had to put something up there and that was the first banner I found. If you click it, it does not go anywhere. That is because it is just a place holder that I will removed as soon as I can come up with a suitable replacement.
As a web developer, I know that forums are very bandwidth and data intensive. As soon as this forum becomes popular, if it ever does, I will either get booted off the shared server this site is hosted on, or asked to leave. Advertising will have to offset the costs of a dedicated server, or two actually, this site may eventually need.
In the future this forum could very well be sponsored by Pelco, along with any other company willing to buy a banner. When and If that ever happens, I will not show any preference to sponsors and neither should any of you. Continue to evaluate their products openly and objectively.
How about this: If you are a registered member and have a digital security related business and want free advertising, until I start to sell advertising, email your banner to me. It has to be 468x60 pixels. I will manually rotate the banner every two weeks or so with others I get. I'll do this until I have to sell banners to support the site or catch too much grief rotating the ones I get.
Send banners to: banners@cctvforum.com
Make sure you provide a url for the banner in the email.
