November 2003 - cctvForum.com is launched.

cctvForum.com will be a place where professionals and DIY'ers alike can discuss cctv and it's use in security systems.

Before installing my first Digital Video System at a retail store, I searched for a site like this to help me in my decision making process. I did not find one place that could offer an unbiased discussion of equipment, platform, camera selection etc.... Hopefully this forum can fill the void.

This will be a moderated board and although the rules have not been added as yet, they will be as soon as they are finished. The number one rule though will be to enjoy yourself, post constructive replies and spread the word about this new forum.

This has been a great forum. I hope it will remain up and running. CCTV has needed something like this for a very long time.

There is some really excellent people in it as well...The only problem I see is that it has prices a lot.. mostly from mr.. you dont want your customers to see those prices.. maybe there should be a registration process based on company ABN and registration number?

yeah, makes sense, rules maybe on posting manufacturer prices only to other CCTV businesses only, not end users.

What should be here is a Installer, dealer, and distributor ONLY section.

Plus a Buy n Sell Section would be nice too.

also, how about group meetings, say in FL or here :-)

Larry, just want to say thanks for creating such a great forum I registered 2 days ago and was turned on to your site about a week ago. I've been furtzing around with IP video, networking, CCTV, and entertainment systems since about 98' (started with a .com using AXIS & Webgate) and really wished there was a forum like this to bounce stuff off of back then. I've been supporting CCTV products for about 3 years now so hope anything I've learned can help out. Look forward to picking the brains of your members next time "I" have a question that needs an answer ;-)
