Hi,

I was trying to decide what to choose and figure out the difference between the XLA and LTA both 8-channels.

correct me if I am wrong just based on the spec sheets this is the main difference:
XLA-no sound input, can take 2 HDD +DVDRW,

LTA-has sound, can take 2HDD, no DVDRW.

both seem to record at the same quality CIF, no better.

-anyone has experience with these DVR's

-anyone has manual for the 8-channel LTA? I only found one for the 4 channel one, but they look completely diferent.

-what HDD interface do these DVR's have? SATA or ATA, IDE.

thanks

Hi,

I sell and support this line of DVR...

First, I do not have an owner's manual for the LTA-8. Sorry. :( But can tell you that it is very similar to the LTA-4.

The XLA can record at 30fps in CIF and 15fps in 2CIF. The LTA, both 8 and 4 channel will only record in CIF.

The XLA 8 does not support audio at all whereas the LTA-8 supports 4 audio inputs.

LTA-8 will support 2 IDE HDD.

The XLA-8 will support 2 IDE HDD if the optional DVD/R is installed or 4 without.

By the way, if you are going to connect either to your network, there will be no need to install a DVD as you can transfer video to your PC and burn from there. Much easier.

Hope this info has helped.

Thanks

Mike
