Have recently installed a geovision 800 card in my dell computer running windows xp home. I've installed a second 80 gig hard drive. Have tried different cameras, but viewing and playback is no where near the quality as running through a monitor. Is this common or am i doing something wrong. I am also remote viewing with DSL through a browser useing the tcp server of geovision. Can't seemed to get it together, really need help! Should i be useing the webcam server? can't seem to get that end working. Thanks!

Lots of places in Geovision to tinker with the quality.

For each camera, on the System Config screen, set the recording quality to 5 and press the arrow that lets you choose 720x480. Same screen, set the Rec Video option to Geo MPeg4.

Set the video source to 720x480 de-interlace.

On the web cam setup, you can set the max resolution for web cam. It is on the video tab.

LCD screens tend to look worse than CRTs.
