from a recent local store refit
was given some Vantage cameras aand i have managed to get them to work, but some of them have a RJ45 port on the back (model: VGC202) and i wanted to know what these are for and that.
also if anyone has any manuals would be great
Thanks

If they have an RJ45 as well as a BNC or composite I would say its either a Hybrid camera or its a built in balun.

Well a hybrid is IP and analog Like this Sony
http://bssc.sel.sony.com/BroadcastandBusiness/docs/brochures/snc_cs3n.pdf
and a balun converts twisted pair to coax or vis-cersa like this
http://www.nvt.com/products/NV_216APV.html
I am not familiar with vantage and cant translat the websites I have found otherwise I might be of more help.

It's definately not an IP camera.
It looks like a fairly average 1/3" 350 line colour camera.
If you're anywhere near the U.K., the model is listed in Gardiner Security's catalogue.

Maybe give their technical department a ring or drop them an e-mail and see if they can provide a technical manual, or .pdf which might point you in the right direction
