Hi guys,

I would to create a my own linux-based DVR. So i am looking for any grabber that can provide other then the cards also:

1) A streaming Server (to stream compressed videos from the DVR)
2) An activeX (in order to show video streams on an IE browser)
3) Any simple tool that let me intercept video streams on linux-based pc (similar to activeX), in order save video streams as a sequence of JPG images on the linux pc. In this way i should use my own "intelligent" algorithms.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Well, is dependent on a lot of things.

Is this for a hobby, or business?

Are you doing all of the software yourself?

That determines wether you need a card from a OEM chinnesse manufactuer, which will cost less but it's a hit/miss with the hardware, or if you want to spend the $$$, you could go to any of the major player, like Avermedia, or Chance-I, or Kodicomm. They'll sell you the cards with the SDK, but it's going to cost you, since you hve to enter in some sort of agreement with them for a large scale purchase.

It's for business, and we will do the software by ourselves. At the moment we already developed part of the software (web).
