Not sure about the spelling.....I was in Turkey many years back as an enlisted guy, sent in for an expercise in Izmir.........had the best 35 days of my life there............I basically got into country and or equipment took a week to get past Turkish Customs.............let the party begin!!!

odd part was, the local BX there was having a sale on Miller Lite.......$2.85 a case. seems the local beer was better.......yea, it was :) we ended up buying ALL the Miller Lite they had (perdiem was awesome) and loaded onto our duce and a halfs.........flew home to MacDill AFB where we had no problem with customs. We basically drank "free" for a few months..........

got to stay in my first 5 star hotel........right at that square with a horse & rider (attaTurke???)......and some telephone building across the street from it.

I think you were talking about Efes pilsen .
we usually drink that brand but especially RAKI ( %45 alcohol ). It is the best drink here.
