installing cctv in the uk

hope is is an ok place to thread this?

is there any think you need to do ie register, to install cctv in the uk, ive read and understand the cctv codes of pratice but is that all i need ?

any help would be great

Depends upon individual circumstances, you may need to register with the data protection registrar if its any thing more than just a residential homeowner using a camera to view their own property. Residentials are usually exempt, if your a business using CCTV then you probably will need to register... Worth reading up on the DPA (lots of links on google) to see if you are exempt or not - it depends on a few factors.
