what causes the halo effect and can it be corrected? thanks ronnie

Are you using an inexpensive bullet infrared camera? What make/model is your camera?

take the sun shield off..................if it is causing a reflection move it back on the bullet.

Its a Vitek 667HRCB, the other one looks and works great. The halo is an older camera. The sunshield is already off.

Halo effect is usally created for one of two reasons:
1. if the black form around the lens is not pulled up all the way touching the glass will create a halo and the fix is to open it up and move the black form all the way front touching the glass.
2. camera is not weatherproof or is install over the limit of what it can handle and the air or the heat is getting inside the camera or the camera is not sealled properly to meet weatherpoof specs...
Try getting iIR550VFDNSN or for little bit lower budget try iIR420SN camera.
