I am wanting to start a CCTV install business, but really need to get the basics down (and the lingo). I am experienced in networking houses/buildings, I just do not know a whole lot about camera specs or exactly what to look for in a DVR to ensure a quality recorded image.

I have installed a Nuvico 4 channel and a GE Storesafe at my house and that is about the extent of it. As for cameras, I bought 4 different ones, but was basically just guessing at what I needed.

Can anyone point me to a thread or a website where I could learn the basics of CCTV? including the acronyms.

Any help would be much appreciated.
