need help for power for 5.5v cam

I assume this is 5.5V DC ? What's the current draw per cam ? How critical is the voltage beyond 5.5V (say up to 8V .. if you know) ? If it's DC and you put the power pack at the end of a 50FT run you stand a good chance of it not working (the cable core thickness is also important here) due to voltage drop.

Ok need help,
have 4 IP cams that are 5.5v. longest length is 50FT to nearest power. Can I splice off the transformer at the end and extend 50Feet and reconnect? Or does anybody know of a good panel that can work for this low voltage problem?

Its says output on transformer 5-5.5v DC 400ma. probably going to send it over 18gauge.
What about using a power panel like altronix (sp)? they have a 6-12v (4 connectrions 2.5A that looks like you can adjust down to 5.5v maybe.

That power panel should do with the 18G wire. As long it can be adjusted down.

It might be worth seeing if you can pick up a reasonable DC:DC convertor, perhaps 12v input with 5v output, to be fitted locally at each camera position. At least with a regulated output, your cameras should be reasonably safe.
