this is what I keep getting when I try to post or start threads:

Don't try and post URLs until you have been here a while.

I checked my profile, and well, it's pretty basic.

The post I left before this was much longer, but no URLs or anything like that. Maybe it's because I had too many symbols in my posting?

Probably so, you also might not be able to fully nest tags like IMG. I really haven't a clue but it appears you are going now. So have fun and learn much. :D
