recommendation of a camera

Can someone recommend a camera where the cash register and the face is clear. More light will be added in the area.

1/3 inchSONY Super HAD CCD with 410K pixels
High Resolution (500 TV Lines)

I think the problem is you are trying to see too much with one camera. If you want the face of the customer and the till, move the camera closer and/or switch to a narrower lens like a 6mm or 8 mm. I think this would help alot.

I would recommend the ASC-540D256 color dome camera
540 line relolution 2.5 - 6mm lens OSB programming to compensate for any ambient light situations

I would go with a Wide Dynamic camera, looking at the front door and getting hit by the sun makes the people look darker than the rest of the image.

Better option will be a minidome from Sanyo with WD already built in, with AI lens going between 2.6mm - 6.0mm, vandal proof and is designed for this type of application...

Haven't tried that camera before, but it looks like a much better option that what I posted for your application.
