remote desktop

Does anyone use remote desktop to maintain their geovision systems remotely.

Each time i try i get a timeout message. Works fine with our local system.

Are you behind a router or friewall, you will need to port forward the machines in order to do this, cant remmeber bloody windows default ports for remote desktop (they are the same as geo) but I am sure Tom will know!

And has a java viewer built in.

am i dumb or remote desktop does not allowing to work on remote machine without having to log off current user ?
i've just had no time to find it out and started using VNC, which suites me fine

I-VIEW has a ez server built it, it's basically a mini pc anywhere where you can take control of the whole PC.

I believe the remote system has to be running XP Professional. HE has an add on or must use terminal services.

It also can be disabled on the client end. Might want to check that.

Yeah, in Control Panel, System, Remote ... I dont think it is enabled by Default?? The Desktop part.

Also could be disabled in the Services Tab if you are like me ...i disable all of that ..
