Can someone explain the differences to me about the RS422 and RS485 protocols? I know RS-485 is 2 wire, and RS-422 is 4 wire (2rx, 2tx). But I need a more solid understanding in simple terms.
From what I found online RS-422 is an old school RS-485 in regards to repeating the signal down the line to the next camera via the tx wires. But also online I saw some stuff about 2 wire RS-422... :?:
I guess my main question is if I have a RS-422 controller am I limited to RS-422 only cameras, or are there adapters or a way to wire in a RS-485 camera?
Thanks
