does anybody know if i can record with this dvr by using motion sensors only that will trigger the record on and off so that i do not have to watch the whole week in oder to see if anything has happened.

note that this is at my vacation home that i go to every week or two and would like to see if somebody or something is moving around my place and i do not have internet access there

Is it a single channel DVr?
It should have at least one alarm input as it does list an event search.

Have a look in the manual to see if its N/O or N/C contact and the set the movement detector to suit.

If not sure set the dvr to record on alarm.(you might have the option in the setup to select N/O N/C.)
or connect to wires to the alarm + comm and open and close to loop to see what state changes starts the event record. They usually a logic circuit looking for voltage to read state change.

Then find decent motion detector and wire her in. Or if you need 2 then run them in series.
