Hello everyone, (i'm a new member) i think this site is great and a fantastic resource.

Here goes; i recently purchased a new corner home in metro toronto which was prewired for a security system.
I need the security system for peace of mind and a) i have 4 little kids who love to play outside in the backyard(god forbid anything bad happening) and b) throughout the year-mainly weekends- the local playground becomes a party zone for approximately 10-20 teenagers who love to smoke up and drink, and then walk by my home (vandalizing homes and cars along the way) on their way to the local McDonalds to curb their appetite.

I WANT to setup a GOOD digitial PC based security system (i dont want to be disappointed).
I will pay fair market price for this system (i just want the basics- i really dont want to be raped). on this forum i will answer/provide info to anyone who can help me out and steer me in the right direction.
Briefly, i have 3 outside entrances; each prewired with 1RG6, 1 cat5e and 1- 4 wire phone cable (i think its 18 gauge- has a beige jacket, red, green, blackand green wires: salesman stated that i use this cable to power the cameras). as well, inside the home, the kitchen and livingroom has been prewired for additionally cameras.
Hopefully this is clearly written.
Thanks
