hi to all.
enjoyed reading the posts & heres my 1st.
as a diy project i intend to install 6 external camera's, both for security purposes & to view the wildlife that visits my home & need your expert help.
i want to install 4 fixed & 2 ptz speed dome camera's.
i would like to use a pc based system & like a lot of other here have purchased from ebay a 25fps, 4 input card, using pico software. unlike most i have found the card & software to be stable, but lacking the features i req.
q1, do any brands of dvr cards support full control of crusing tracks & there setup or do i need to use a dedicated controler ?
q2, is there any number plate recognition software thats cheap enuff to use to say open a powered gararge door or gate. [just hoping].
q3, dome camera's vary dramatically in price, i want the best zoom i can get [optical]. are the korean/chinese imports worth considering ? i realise that due to the constant movement, the things wont last to long, but i never know if some of the big name dome's are just rebadged imports. please your comments appreciated.
