POS Overlay with any network printer

"So, what I started doing was capturing the actual video from the PC and recording it on the DVR." Could you elaborate on how you did this, sounds very interesting. Thanks
  3. I mean start in full screen, full screen that you see if you click "full screen" on the main dvr window, full screen less the bottom bar that is in compact mode. Unless I missed it somewhere, you cant do multiple "spanning" monitors with Aver? I know you can customize tv out, but that doesnt show the pos text. What I had to do was install imatrix, run Aver in silent mode, then launch iMatrix to look at ip 127.0.0.1 and all this on the one dvr so I could use up to 4 monitors with pos text.
  4. Anyway to get aver to start in full screen, not just compact mode? Thanks
  5. I am setting up an Aver system with 2 6480 boards and have pos data running to it perfectly. My issue is when I click "ipos live" and try to go back on a transaction, the dvr software freezes and crashes. Any ideas on this, or is there a way to disable this button? Thanks
  6. Hi All, I am really a pos guy and try to slip cctv in whenever I can. I see there have been a few questions about the POS overlay that I may be able to help with. I also have some questions too. First off, if you want to overlay pos data, Aver can recieve via com ports or tcp/ip as well as udp. Note, I have never been able to get the tcp/ip or udp to work, HOWEVER, using VSPE (virtual serial port emulator), you can receive POS data via tcp/ip and use a com port for this. VSPE is available at eterlogic.com for free(32bit) or $25 for 64bit. You create a virtual com port, you also create a tcp/ip server and attach it to the com port you just created and tell aver to look for the info on the virtual com port. So for example, create a network printer on the pos, network printers print to port 9100. Create a virtual com port and a tcp/ip server listening on port 9100 on the dvr using vspe. Tell aver to listen to the virtual com port, thats it. Feel free to ask any questions.
  7. Does anyone have a preferred Aver software version? Just setup a 6480 and downloaded 7.9.0.0029. I think the web app looks like sh%&. Is there a ver that has a cleaner web app or that gets you directly into remote console? Thanks
  8. I see you already have XP, I had this problem with Win 7, had to go back to xp. Try uninstalling/reinstalling, or uninstall/reinstall with the latest software from aver.

    Current mobo for nv6480

Thanks guys... Just got the po from the customer. Although Ive built a few dvr's with Aver, I am really the point of sale dealer and try to add cctv whenever I can due to the pos overlay function over ip vs com ports. This is a 20 cam job with 5 pos terminals. I just finished an 8 cam system with an NV5000 +extension and had to toss a mobo and roll back to xp pro, could not get the aver drivers to load. I see aver has the Asus P8Z77-V as a recommended board, I think Ill give it a try. Two questions... Hard drives, looking for 2-2TB, any Western Digital recommendations? CPU i5 or i7? Thanks again
