  1. looking at the data sheets.... none specifically show the 104 does control that specific camera... the system example is called " PPP Connection System " cams to 104 to modem to computer through port to view 104s menu and control view. Strictly an up the coax and power cable feed to the camera... till you get sophisticated enought to play with alarms and such.
  2. Hang on before you buy it... it's been there for awhile... lets be sure your cam is listed as a controllable unit for the 104... I'll check my data base for the spec sheets...

I'm going to say... it's the panasonic up the coax protocol that is killing you... been fortunate enough to have lots of panasonic stuff I bought on e bay... for near to nothing... just to have and test with at some future time... which is now... there is a panasonic WJ NT104 on e bay for some time.... that if I did not already have 3 of I would have picked up... it's only 35.00 You need to check the spec sheets that show details of your camera in conjunction with DVR's and multiplexers... the spec sheets show what equipment like controllers you can use as well. Some times the manual can be outdated and not example other panasonic units compatable. If the 104 is compatable... it is an internet based unit that you can view 4 cameras through and control them through as well... I'm going to be powering mine up this week to broadcast the perimeter property cams on... right now I have all my cams connected to a WH HD220 which is an 8 camera DVR. My neighbors want to access the frontage cameras to view their properties... If I create a preset routine... everyone gets a good view of the crossroad...

    PELCO D PROTOCOL COMMAND LIST

    I used the upload attachment below the thread reply window below the window I am in now... and did it again just now.. but it nor a link see to be displaying on this reply page... so far... Please take a look at the coding and formats... I am sure they are right for the various commands in Pelco D... the ones configured with \xx\xx are the required format for the Simply Term Gold program incerts to land in the command line to send... The format xx,xx,xx, is the format for the 232 analyzer program.... If you verify thesea are viable... which I am sure they are... I am looking at the cameras themselves ( since I have 2 of them that are responiding in the same fashion ) configuration... I tested every baud rate, in every protocol, in every fashion... positioned the W1 and W2 in on and W3 W4 on off positions... ( having to do with terminations as well as 2 or 4 wire communication to and from the cam ) and get responsed from the tower program through the serial port and the 485 adapter to the cam.... which is why I am pretty sure the coding is accurate... I am even using a stand alone controller configured to control the cam through the 485 com lines... but only get acknowledgment responses... the controller is an Ultrak KEG5000
  7. attached is a group of commands in all formats for camera control in Pelco D protocol. I am still having trouble with the 2 Ultrak KD6i cameras I am trying to istall... to use these codes on.

I have 2 KD6'S.... one, mounted on on a pole a the front of my property... temporarily, till I get my CW864 configured to some sort of a multiplexer and controller... the second sitting on a table next to me here to work on the configuring issues I am having with both cameras. I've been working on this long enough... to be able to write the installlation manuals blindfolded... which is a good thing... cause it never hurts to know this stuff inside out... and approach a problem from all sorts of avenues... Cameras are On Line... when powered up... video live on monitors... displays home page menu for 10 seconds... at start up... camera head cycles to what seems a home position each time I power up... Home page reads... ........ ULTRA DOME HD6i............ ........ PROTOCOL ..... STANDARD...... ........ 9600 BAUD ... EVEN PARITY ... 8 BITS ..... ........ CAM 001 M ................ We're talking cam power and video... fully functional... obviously from the cam display... dip switches... correctly configured... depending where I go from here... It seems from the downloads there are a few controllers I can configure as stand alones... Until those come about, I downloaded the 323ANALYZER... in an attempt to check out the control functions in Decimal code... since the free version of the analyzer provides a checksum calculator for hex or decimal coding and I have configured the com port baud parity and bit rate, I should be able to transmit the code properly out the serial port using a 323/485 converter.... UPDATE...: spent several days coding commands for both the 232 analyzer program and another serial port control program called SIMPLE TERM GOLD... using the commands I will attatch in another thread... the camera responds with a red light when I send the tx to the camera rx but they only do what seems to be a primary cycle routine... which is zoom in and out, the tilt functions from bottom center to top and that is it... when I send command strings... the tilt function cycles from top to bottom (pendant camera facing down )and back to top with no other function The KD6i installation/operations manual calls out the above protocol, baud, and parity. Which I reconfigured all the baud rates and protocols testing for a more reactive response... to no avail. So I ordered a HEGS5000, which from the documentation is a stand alone controller for the KD6 units. I am trying to get in to the command screen to clear any preset protocols which I have yet been able to accomplish... I should be able to access the camera menu on the monotor screen after viewing the camera statistic log on the monitor screen... Struggling here... Does anyone have any specific experience with the KD6 camera configurations and functions? Or had this problem with these cameras? I am going to attach the Pelco D comand strings I am using in the various formats... in the next thread.
  9. Not sure how to help you... first off ... do you have the operation/installation manual for the 564's... Tonight I just finished configuring a wv cu864 outdoor pendant cam to a wj hd220 which gives me 8 camera recording and control capabilities across the internet... Something you outlined was that some of the baud rates 19200 from what I read tonight... is not the correct baud for utc ( up the coax) panasonic control... at least not with any of my Panasonic servers like the nt104 nt204 mp204 the 19200 baud rate seems to be for the rs 458 as you described... I'd try using panasonic compatable equipment to test the cameras with first for their functionality... Good to see your DVR had a panasonic option for the camera control... maybe with the cameras 485 terminated and the baud rate at 9600,8,none, you can control the camera up the coax... if the DVR is a program.. you can use a mouse to actuate on the screen it may work... it it is a freestanding DVR where you have to actuate buttons to send commands maybe those codes will actuate up the coax... since you have it set at Panasonic... Keep pushing and watch some of my posts... I am testing 485 commands out the serial port on a tower to some KD6i pendant domes using 232analyzer and Simple Term Gold using pelco D protocol...

    ultrak kdsa00n1 control compatability

    yes, exactly.... Hook up on the camera seems simple... rx -,+ and tx -,+ just wondering is this called a pelco type command stream... and mixing it with a UTC server...
  11. Hey guys... I have an ultrak kdsa00n1 and want to know what the compatability for hook up is for a Panasonic NT 104 server.... it's a UTC controller but has optional hook ups for RX and TX in the back.... just wondering if any of you have done any experimenting with mixed controls...

    pan and tilt wiring

    great postings guys.... I ran into the same complications on what turned out to be an older Pelco pan and tilt unit... After spending quite some time with the techs at Pelco because the lable have no desingation to the voltage or model, just serial number designation... an older tech came up with some documentation wherein the unit is actually 115VDC. Who ever heard of that? Of course a 115VDC pan and tilt controller by them was discontinued by them some 15 years ago. For those 2 units I'm going to have to do the same as Guns... create my own controller with relays and a 24 volt pan and tilt controller. It should be pretty easy, my question would be do you know where I can find a 120VAC line in transformer with 115VDC load out. The requirement on the pan/tilt units are only 3 amps. So I don't need more than a 10 amp output in case both units operate at the same time. Lancersdad
  13. I'm waiting for the response on your spec postings of the balun connectors. Intresting potential... something that comes to mind is that those running 24 volt PTZ cameras may need more than one power feed from the camera power control box. The heater and blower should get its own circuit or feeds which should be fused seperately from the 24 volt camera PTZ operation. Always read the wiring spec chart for voltage drops, distances and wire sizes... If you get these connectors and intend on running Cat 5/6 from your control location to outside your house/shop/garage ( hey mods correct me if I'm wrong ) to your cameras, the cat wire gauge would be incorrect for almost any run. The point being just because it says 12 and 24 volt power don't get confused. Be smarter than the horse your riding... These seem to be great items for stationary 12 volt camera operation within 200 foot runs.
