  1. If i have an american dynamics ras916ls speed dome, and an adtte16 touch tracker control pad, what else will i need to be able to control the ptz functions, and be able to view on a monitor or tv? It's for a single camera setup and i don't have it run through a dvr or anything else?

    not sure on hook up

So are you saying that the rs-485 is in this case sensornet, & the orange & yellow wires are hooked to pins 5, & 6 in connector p1? I really appreciate the help.
  3. I have an american dynamics RAS916LS ptz speed dome ultra VII, my question is is it possible to hook up an rs-485 ptz controller to it, & if so exactly what wires go where? I've looked through all the manuals but haven't saw this exact configuration. This all probably sounds dumb but i'm new to all of this. Any help would be awsome!

    DVD question

First off thanks for the info, yes I was talking about pan, tilt, & zooming. I have a American Dynamics RAS916LS without a controller, I found a cheap IR remote controller from a Chinese retailer on eBay. The ad says it's used for controlling RS-485 signal, & it supports full function pelco-p & pelco-d protocol. After I hooked it up, and it did it's inital power up routine I had no control, I'm not sure what address to put the camera on, basically I'm stuck.
  5. As everyone can tell I am truely an amature so here's my ridiculus question. If I'm trying to control a American Dynamics RAS916LS camera, do I have to use a DVR?
  6. i have a american dynamics RAS916LS that i bought on ebay last year. It came with nothing but the camera. i recently found the power supply, & also found an RS 485 wireless remote controller for PTZ from a China supplier. The ad says that it's used for controlling RS 485 signal & that it supports full function for pelco-p & pelco-d protocol. After hooking it all up the way i thought , the camera did it's inital power up routine then that was it, i had no control. I looked in the manual but seen nothing saying anything about RS 485 and pelco d. My question is does anyone know what address i should be on? Also do i have to run it through a DVR? I would be greatful for any help, by now i'm sure everyone has figured out that i'm a NEWBEE
