After the daytime shot I posted a few days ago this is the night time shot, the streets are pretty dark but you get the idea. The ir's pick up the dirt on the windscreen and the dashboard - bugger !! http://glennschannel.magnify.net/video/Night-Vision-Car-CCTV-Camera

  6. I use an ir camera in my car and at night you can see which light is lit. Top = red, bot = green But, I would be interested in the responses to this thread too
  7. My AVC760 DVR sort of died as explained in another thread. Got it going but thought it was time for a replacement just incase something else fails, been running for 5 years now. Went through Ebay and won one for $99, most places here in Aus wanted heaps more. One place wanted $459 Ebay can be good if you know what your looking for

    No HDD on AvTech DVR

Doesn't look like it does, there is a separate "mini" board where the power comes in which is attached to the mother board. The hard disk power is fed off this, the wires to the connector for the hdd are soldered into this board.

    No HDD on AvTech DVR

I had a few desktop power supplies hanging around here, after doing a google on how to power it up without being connected to a computer (finding out what to jump to energize it) I have plugged it into the hdd within the dvr. It worked !!! My hdd is alive again !!! Now to work out whats wrong with the power supply to the hdd within my DVR.

    No HDD on AvTech DVR

Thanks for the reply Scorpion Yes, everything else is working fine, monitor output, all cameras, remote access etc etc etc. I was thinking down the path of power to the hdd too. I was also thinking of an external power supply to test just for the hdd but thinking it may damage something (dont think it will ???) I dont have an o/scope but I will check with a multi-meter.

    AVTECH 4 CH MPEG4

Just a simple question, have they setup the firewall rules to point a particular port to the device ? I use port 123 here, generally its a vacant port and it also gets it away from port 80.

    Double lenses camera

Does anyone have captures between the day night cameras and these ones for a comparison ?
  13. Hi All, Good to find a cctv forum, I run an avtech with 4 night vision cameras and it will be some good reading on here I hope Cheers Glenn
  14. Hi all, 1st post on this forum... I have been running an AvTech DVR for about 4 years and yesterday it came up that there was no hdd installed. I had a 400 gig drive it it which has worked well till now. Naturally I thought it was a mechanical error on the drive so I replaced it with a working drive, once again it said no hdd. I then swapped it again for another hdd and up came the dreaded no hdd again !! Has anyone else had this problem and maybe have a solution ?? Cheers Glenn
