  1. Dudes, clearly I've used these before, and will in the future. I've had no issues with stock ordered, always received etc. But clearly there will be bad eggs also. But knocking aliexpress or alibaba is ridiculous. What i buy from China costs me €70 , if ordered in Europe it's €280. Each to there own. Id always order 1 of anything first. Max 2 at a time.
  2. Any one know what happened here, I've always death with this store, but seems to have vanished.
  3. Would any one know a simple how to guide. Fed up of my IP address changing. From reading on here, setting up DNS can over come this problem. Cheers. Pip
  4. Thanks, seems to be where I was going. Some sites are short coming with information, ie what power out put per Poe or total even, whether it's 1gb per per or total. . Thanks anyway, I'll keep this in mind
  5. One 8 port with all 8poe? Reason I ask; I'll have min 8 cameras, An 8 port alone won't be enough when I need a PC connected 8 port Poe cost in Europe, €250 min for a good one. A lot more choice when going 8port (4 poe), cost €60-€80 As I'm just starting out, maybe go small, and a 8 port 4poe will do 4 cams. I'm looking at something like netgear http://www.hardwareversand.de/en/Printserver/107407/Netgear+ProSafe+8P+Gigabit+Switch+4xPoE.article
  6. On the camera page on milestone, set it to port 83 and then use internet port 8081 On the hikvision firmware, set the 4 ports to 5001 554 5003 5004 On your router forward ports 8081 to 8082 Make sure you have opened the ports 8081 8082 83 On your windows fire wall. You can google to see how this is done The above has worked for me Changing ports on hikv firmware may lead to researching for the camera on milestone
  7. hi all, is this normal, this is the milestone project go, without any camera connected, actually connecting the cam doesn't increase it at all. win 64 bit 8.1 i5 -4670k 3.4GHz 8gb ram and the mobile server off and stopped. just thought it running high, but I guess as long as it doesn't go way up as I connect the cam and then more cams in the future.
  8. Bingo Change RTSP port on the Hikvision software to 554 and I have sub stream working. . ill need to do up a start up guide for the hiv and milestone. . a lot of trial and error, must people would have given up.. . but me. . I constantly say to myself, the answer is on the web. the above was takin from a hikvision technical bullentin that I found.. anyway . . im good to go... fully working now. .. just playing with images now, to find what suits certain areas. pips
  9. Brilliant buellwinkle, only thing I hadn't done is draw the area, and almost missed the stop drawing button. Works now. Thanks. Only one job left to do now, that's get sub stream working. Otherwise I won't be able to use milestone going forward Pip
  10. Is there one for image settings? Link please if so. Thanks Pips
  11. carried out the above smoothly on milestone, but is there anything I should look out for on the hikv firmware as its not recording.
  12. OK, pips needs to check this out. as I didn't change this.
  13. I done a test, as I can get sub stream working, I stopped the mobile server, and then actually exited it from the notification area, CPU still at 7% I'm still a little suspect of the set up given those two niggles
  14. buellwinkle, are you using xprotect go? reason I ask, is I don't think its available, I get black screen on web. . but green and red sqs appear, to indicate motion/record. its like as if its blocked the image. I have gone over the settings. . changed the IP , searched and picked up the cam again. etc. .. no luck. can you also confirm, that under the Hardware device, pick a camera, camera settings summary appears, underneath properties, the open button. to the right, mine says MPEG, and I cant change this. . I was expecting to see H.264 for video format also, under the cameras and storage information, without clicking on a cam, under camera summary, I see my cam and again format MPEG, Recording settings Motion Detection. . . I would have thought the format should be H.264. maybe its fine, and is recording in H.264, but thought it weird. .and was thinking was there something stopping the sub stream.. all the hikv firmware settings are on H.264
