  1. I think I have also decided not to go with ubiquiti and just go with the standard ONVIF HD cameras - what do you guys recommend for a large system? Also, any input on a good VMS for the PC? Currently just using my random chinese H265 NVR....supports 32ch @960p
  2. Anyone setup security cameras for an RV park before? What did you use and how many cameras? I need approximately 32-40 cameras. The RV Park has a large clubhouse which will need minimum of 16-24 cameras indoors/outdoors and the rest will be throughout the park. I'm liking Ubiquiti cameras since they have audio built-in and 1080P @30fps (the UI is really convenient) - I don't like that fact that the software is not ONVIF compatible so if I wanted to tie in a LicPlateRecog Camera, it would have to be standalone or something. Since I have an ONVIF compatible NVR currently, I was thinking of using that for the LPR cameras and the rest be on the PC-based NVR. Thoughts?
  3. Hello, I currently have multiple locations using multiple cameras. I wanted to see if there is a software that can consolidate the different cameras at the different locations into one viewer, just separated by names or so. Also, I am trying to place 32+ cameras in an RV park - any recommendations on software to help with this? I currently have a (no name brand) NVR that can handle 32ch @ 960P or 24ch @1080P but it is not easy to use and the app for it sucks (XMeye). Also wanted to see if anyone has recommendations on a License Plate IP Camera (PoE preferable). Thanks in advanced!! edit: Has anyone ever heard of Video Insight? Supposed to be really good about consolidating cameras at different locations but no idea about pricing, etc...
  4. Okay, trying to set this up for a business, they want 32 cams, wifi and wired, mostly wifi, but I have no idea on what is a good system and what are good prices for cameras? I am looking at 2MP IP cameras for ~$119/each, they are ONVIF Sony cams that come with 2.4ghz wifi antenna. The NVR is a 32ch 960P system (does 24ch at 1080P) Any ideas if this is good or bad? Recommendations? Decent sized RV park spanning atleast 200'+ feet - I have wifi repeaters placed throughout the park to bounce the signals, just need an idea of what to purchase. (here is the site I was looking at for reference: http://www.videocamerasecurity.net/) Office is at the bottom near the storage, that is where all the equipment, routers/etc will be stored. Thanks in advanced!

GV1480A and TV Out with HDTV?

So I've setup a 16ch dvr system with the GV1480A, it's one of the latest revisions of the card. The client wants the cameras replicated onto a 40" LED TV for the clerks. (C-Store) What are my options here? I know the card has a TV out, but I would have to use a BNC to RCA right? Is there any option of outputting to HDTV where it won't look like crap? If I use HDMI to the television from the PC, will it give me the same view? Haven't really done much in terms of TV out, usually all have been on the monitor.

    need 16 cameras

Hey, thanks for the input guys, I really appreciate it! Looking into the gadspot cams. One last question, these cams will be connected to a GV1480 PC based DVR, how would I output the cameras to a television? The PC does have HDMI out. Thanks in advanced!

    need 16 cameras

looking at these for the outdoors: http://www.ebay.com/itm/High-Resolution-Weatherproof-700TVL-Sony-EFFIO-E-CCD-84-IR-CCTV-Security-Camera-/261077506022?pt=US_Security_Cameras&hash=item3cc96e97e6 $95 which is better than the local shop charging $159 for one. What do you guys think? I also saw this for 16: http://www.ebay.com/itm/16x-600TV-High-Resolution-1-3-Sony-CCD-Security-Camera-CCTV-Home-Security-System-/261077848839?pt=US_Security_Cameras&hash=item3cc973d307 $1060

    need 16 cameras

Just purchased a GV1480 and need some suggestions on purchasing some cameras. It is for a gas station and I need about 5 outdoors and the rest (11) in doors. Was looking at 1/3" 600TVL...however, I wanted to stay around $1k-ish for the budget. I've looked at the sony cameras on ebay, would those be okay for outdoor use or should I get the varifocal ones and put them in an enclosure? I figured 600tvl would give me a decent resolution and with the 1480, I would get good FPS. TIA!

    GV650 - software 8.3

Yeah I wasn't too smart - just realized even though it is a gv650, it only supports 8 ch...says it on the card even though it has ports for more!

    GV650 - software 8.3

Hello to all, I basically joined since I figured you guys would know ALOT more about this than I would. I currently have a GV650 in a working machine w/ 8 cameras. Got the Black port in the back hooking up cameras and audio. Works perfectly Fine. I have one unused port since the GV650 supports 16 ch camera, so I decided to add a few cameras. However, I do not get any video, and the options to check cameras 9-16 are greyed out. ANy ideas? I even tried switching over the current 1-8 cameras to 9-16 but no go. WHen I try to install cameras, I only see the option for cameras 1-8
