    DVR supporting https

No nothing secret - just does not want anyone being able to peak in if they are sniffing packets.

    DVR supporting https

Thanks. My friend does have vpn/ssh capabilities, however, he is looking for something that he/family could connect from work or their homes. I do not believe they could use vpn/ssh from work. I do see how this can be utilized by his laptop. I was playing around with an Axis encoder which support https, however, the unit (7401) only supports 1 camera. He would need 2 units, plus some solution to capture the video. A synology nas has security software built-in (which he has as well), however, I could not get it to work reliably so I would prefer not to use the synology surv software.
  3. Hey Folks - I can really use some help with identifying the proper dvr. I need a dvr which has the following: usual: OSX (any supported browser), IPhone, and IE. 2-4 cctv cameras (each must support 1-way audio) at least 1 internal HD h264 and for the more difficult absolute requirement * HTTPS * I can easily find dvr's with the first set of criterion but I am really having difficulty with the https support. I do not want a unit with some undocumented internal encoding of credentials (or worse none at all - which many of even the top brands do). Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks in advance, Adam
