    Security Camera

It's hard for me to see the scale, but offhand, I'd say no. It looks a bit like art or a plant holder that is oriented toward the inside of the house.

    HDMI-output 4K security camera?

Following. I'm just curious, is that so that you can view the output on a monitor? I've been wanting that myself. When I had more analog cameras, I'd use little LCD screens for them. Since moving more to digital cameras, its more difficult to pipe the view the content.
  3. Is the moral of the story to avoid AliExpress? The prices are often tempting.
  4. Bummer. I assume that's because the existing non-IR camera isn't true Day/Night? No IR cut filter? I've got an IR illuminator I haven't installed yet. It will be interesting to see which cameras it helps and which it doesn't.

    invisible indoor cameras

Security Cameras Direct has a bunch - clocks, plants, etc. I was there the other day looking for outdoor hidden cameras, but they mostly have indoor ones.

    question about KPC-EJ230NUWX

Scott, that sounds awesome. I have a EX230HL1 too, and love the low light capability. A $100 color version would be amazing, but I think it sounds too good to be true. If you do end up getting one, or finding out more information, please post back. Thanks

    Hi - hobbyist

I see what you mean about the DVRs. Also, the IP cameras look pretty amazing, and its nice to not have to worry about the analog to digital conversion. I've got a new Axis M1011-W and the basic setup was a piece of cake. Just plug in the power, plug in the ethernet cable and it showed up in Safari. I'm now trying to figure out if I can afford a megapixel IP camera, or if I'll just get a new analog camera. In the long run, I'm sure the IP cameras will make up the bulk of my system.

    Hi - hobbyist

Hi ya'll. Just getting back into CCTV as a hobby again, after a few years off. I first got into cameras due to the amount of property crime in my old neighborhood. My current place is less problematic, but lately a few things have happened that prompted me to dig out the old gear again. I'm researching some cameras right now, trying not to rush into any purchases until I'm sure I know what I need. It's been fun seeing what's changed in the several years I've been absent. Thanks to all of you for your posts, they've been really helpful.
