  1. Unfortunately, this is the only place where I can mount the camera as vehicles with trailer boats come in. However, as I said before the distance is 12m (40ft) which is clearly in the specified range of this camera. Those photos are taken with even an additional IR illuminator on. To get this working what do you think about this: 1/ I haven't tried it but could there be any interference with the additional IR illuminator that was already mounted? 2/ In your experience do you think the one model up (http://www.ktnc.co.kr/english/viewtopic.php?t=924) could do the trick? 3/ Buy a really heavy duty IR illuminator and floodlighting the whole entrance? In addition I could straighten the cars up with speed bumps on either side. Do you have any other suggestions? Thank you. Any progress on this? A neighbor has the same camera and is not happy with the results. IR sensitivity seems to be very poor. Nothing new yet. I switched off the additional IR illuminator and I am imagening an improvement (maybe - maybe not). I am kind of getting many plates at night but during bright day light I only get the plates that are in the sun not in the shade. I am wondering if I should get another camera for day light. On this matter I am wondering if it is generally possible to connect 2 cameras to the same ALPR system to improve readability of the OCR?

  3. No, I haven't. To much over my budget.
  4. Thank you very much for this great forum. Here is one suggestion from me, if you don't mind: There are about 8 main sections with again 1-4 sub sections each. Although it seems to make sense having forums divided like this, I would suggest to cut this amount down to 2-3 with just a few subsections. The reason for this mainly because many of them do overlap anyway (LPR, customers have both analog & IP cameras, etc.) First of all it tidies everything up a bit and is not that cluttered but the MAIN reason is that you get more people to read and answer than just a few, who happen to be at the right time at the right place. For example, you might find someone with a lot expertise in PC based systems reading "DVR cards & software" while not looking at "security cameras" at that time and missing therefor a question from someone else. I believe this will make the forum more active. And you get more answers. My suggestion would be: WELCOME -Introductions -CCTV FAQs -Announcements (trade shows, website, etc) -Classifieds -Suggestions about the website CCTV -software (surveillance, ALPR, face recognition, etc.) -hardware (lenses, cameras, access control, etc.) or something else in that direction. Just a thought. Hope you don't mind. Cheers.
  5. Hi riluxg, I love this price tag I'll give it a try. Thank you very much for this. Update: I tried the software but with LPR it crashed all the time. Also it did not detect the cameras via my Geovision card. I tried it via desktop monitoring when it crashed. Otherwise it looks like an easy interface. BTW Is it possible with a LPR software to connect 2 or 3 cameras instead of a single one to get a better recognition of the same car at the same time?
  6. Maybe this? http://www.warelogic.com Hi rory, they don't have Australia and I wouldn't have a clue how to work with a SDK... Thanks anyway
  7. Hi there, just to give this thread a "bump"... Is there any reasonably priced, standalone LPR software on the market? I am not a programmer to implement SDK into anything. Just something that works and doesn't cost an arm and a leg? Cheers.
  8. Just in case someone else has the same problem: I fixed it by right-clicking all .inf files and then "install" in the GeoCodecReg folder. Then it magically worked again.

  10. I went out and bought this camera but somehow I can't get it to work. There are not many adjustments. Apart from "negative" I do most adjustments on the Geovision system. Getting 100% of the plates day & night is impossible. Here are some photos. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
  11. Please, it would be great if you (Seedigital) or someone else could put up a simple step-by-step instruction on how to do this, please. I am sitting in the same boat. Only a black screen and need to get this working. Re-installing the software did not work for me. Thank you so much in advance.
  12. Thank you very much for your replies. Eos, looking at the specification of the Bosch it seems that the range is only 7.6m (25ft). The number plate will be about 12m (40ft) away. I checked out the Bolide BC2035 it looks interesting and it is also within my price range Have you used this camera before? I could not find any reviews on the net. Joseph, I have not found an ANPR system that I can afford (and able to run & understand). So I thought if I could get a camera that does the job of recording the numberplates for the moment and later, if I ever get my hands on a software I could just give that a try without buying a new camera. But for the moment mainly to catch all number plates. I hope that makes sense
  13. Hi everyone, I came across this camera here: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/102326/210286126-329361829/License-Plate-Recognition-Camera-LPR-camera.html and was wondering what you thought about this and/or if somebody had bought it. I also had a look at the KPC-LP500. Would the KPC-LP500 be the one to go? Or is the above mentioned camera not too bad? I don't want to kidnap this thread but it may help the original poster as well. Here is what I want to do: The camera is about 12meters (40ft) away from the number plate in a 3.8meters (12.5ft) height. I want to monitor the entrance which is all up 7m (23ft) wide. The camera will be facing west so afternoon sun will be a problem, however, it will be sitting under an eave. There are several other cameras to pickup the shape and color of the car but not the numberplate. The entrance is not well lit at night. The speed of the cars are maximum 30km/h (18mph) with the number plate at the front to be detected. I would love to get my hands on a LPR software later on but if it is too expensive - it doesn't work out. I put my questions in this thread as I also don't have a big budget. I would love to hear from you. Thanks in advance. .
