  2. Hi all I have a cctv box that works a treat. However....... I have connected it to my network and its sending a signal that my pc can see and "open". At this point it asks for a log in, i know the information yet when i press connect nothing happens, i have installed all the plug-ins, and used IE, Firefox and Chrome but all have the same black box with controls and the log in, so i am wondering if the box's software is not working right. I got the box off a mate who got it off a mate who he no longer speaks to so no idea where it was from, there isn't really any information on the box so i cant go to there website etc I have limited knowledge of CCTV DVR boxes so not sure if you can install new software like you would on a pc etc so i hope one of you fine folks can help me _______________________________ Active-X Control Please install this file, if you can`t see a black box below. IP : 192.168.0.33 Port : Password : Thats what i see (i have removed the port and password to be safe) under that is a connect and disconnect icon, then the black box that it suggests i should have. It shows all the various controls IE playback and pan controls but just wont connect I do hope you can help as i would love to be able to set this up for viewing while i am out as some idiot tried to break in to my house last week while my wife was home alone, being able to see them while i am out is excellent Thank you for reading Ric
  3. hello all! I wonder if anyone can help me here I was given a dvr system today, i have set it up (well connected it all up in the kitchen) and linked it into the net etc, i can see the machine online but i can not log into it. I have looked in every menu and sub menu on the box to find something that gives me the option of adding a web access password (im sure you know what i mean if thats not the correct terminology) but there just isnt one to be found. So i present myself to you and ask this, Is there anyway of changing the firmware to one thats a little easier to use and set up? I have looked all over the dvr box itself and there is no make or model number on the box at all. So im stumped I hope this makes sense and hope someone can help many thanks in advance EDIT *** I have since found out that it is a Sentient 4 Channel Network DVR origanly from maplins (uk store) but i can not find any sort of firmware upgrades. The current one is fairly rubbish to be fair its like a bad dos program
  4. Oh Never Mind I have just read the forum sticky saying that all cards from ebay are pirated cards. Mines from ebay so i must assume that its a pirate card. Can if this is the case can someone give me some details on a real card please ? I didnt even know there were pirate cards. Sorry all
  5. Oh on a side note. I used (and must say it was no bloody good but may help y'all) Unknown Device Identifier 8.0 and it says the following: @system32\drivers\pci.sys,#1024;Multimedia Video Controller [uNKNOWN DEVICE] Chip: Conexan (WAS: Brooktree Bt878/Fusion 878A Mediastream Controler @system32\drivers\pci.sys,#1152;Multimedia Controller [uNKNOWN DEVICE] Chip: Conexan (WAS: Brooktree Bt878/Fusion 878A Video Capture (Audio Section) Hope this helps
  6. I have looked through 3 pages of questions and yeah im probably a dumbass and not seeing the answers i need so this is probably a repost! So i appologise now Okay so heres the deal, i bought a cctv drv card thingy for my pc. I installed it on my pc and its being seen by the device manager. I installed the software that came with it and it turns out that it only works with 95/98/xp. I have windows 8 pro 64bit with windows media centre installed. All i can find out what this software is, is that its called pico2000 (hope that helps) so i have done some searching on the net and found a program called "btwdmdrvinstaller" whcih claimed to work. However this had around 60 different options of my cvard to choose from which i have been through and still this damn card isnt picking up any feed! So I turn to you all (and i have met some jolly good people in the past on here) and hope that someone can either help me or tell me what i am missing on the way with this. Surly this shouldnt be this hard in this day and age! Once again sorry if this is a re-post. And if any more info is needed please let me know. Ivor
