Dead Dahua DVR - need to replace / upgrade

Installed a new fan and it spins up. Ethernet lights blink, hard drive spins up, but no video (tried VGA and HDMI). Ping to the IP address works, but no response from IE or SmartPSS. I think I need to declare this unit deceased. I like the specs on the Dahua Hybrid HCVR8208. It will do 8 BNC analog and 8 IP cameras if I am reading this correctly. Thoughts? Any suggestions for online ordering? Thanks.

Dead Dahua DVR - need to replace / upgrade

I'll see if i can plug in a different fan and get it to boot. Will let you know. Yes, the existing cameras are coax. Cameras are - LG 650/700 2-11mm Dome - IR DN Black Bullet Camera 2.8mm -12mm - SCBlack Bullet D/N Camera 6mm -50mm IR 150 foot I'd like to start adding IP cameras to the system. I looked at a couple hybrid DVR specs and they only support 2 cameras (along with the analog). That seems rather limited. I could just buy a 8 port analog DBR and separate 8 port NVR I guess. Yes @jeromephone, I will replace the HD if the budget works out.
  4. I manage the security camera for our neighborhood community piers. Our Dahua 16 channel DVR has died (Model SA X1615H, motherboard DVR 1604HF-A). The fan on the motherboard is frozen and I am guessing it fried (some lights come on, but no video). I would like to keep the 6 analog cameras we have now, but need the ability to add more, maybe IP types. I assume I can reuse the 2000GB hard drive too. The DVR is locked in a shed, and we really only use use Dahua's SmartPSS and iDMSS mobile app. We never got the motion detect / email thing to work, and hoping a newer unit can make this easier. Can folks recommend a suitable replacement? I see a Dahua HCVR5216A-V2 “Tribrid” on Amazon. It might only support 2 IP cams if I am reading this correctly, but it will support some higher res analog ones. Thanks in advance.

Help with 8 CH DVR and cameras

I am shopping around also. I plan to go with a 16 so I can add more camera later. This one may be cheaper, not sure it's a Dahua; http://www.securitycameraking.com/16-channel-ultimate-mini-series-59082-prd1.html This looks interesting, but no hard drive http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B007YD1N1G/ref=dp_olp_0?ie=UTF8&condition=all
