    intellex unit number 2

ok got to desktop and sorted database but the cfg file says its corrupt, is that downloadable somewhere to get the code back? I do have a newer 2004 version, but pretty sure that won't help me. this intellexcfg.exe is dated 2001
  2. Old windows xp intellex version 2.2.7 The hard drive in it died, ( yes again ) in the backup unit, if you followed my other unit. I managed to clone the os part of the partition but the cam footage is dead. I replace the os/prog image onto another, partitioning it off and it starts up fine but alas it doesn't record. On the newer unit when I added a drive I told it and it set it up as a data drive. This one didn't give me any choice. When I looked back into it the 2nd partition was still blank. So I created a ImageDB folder and the relevant sub folder Dir0000 even copied a few of the old avi files into the relevant folders, but it still isn't recording. On a side note, assume there is a utility or program that actually sets all this up, I cannot access the os as I do not have the code. Is this code sat in the unit I can access via 3rd party apps? Is there a default code I can try? BTW I tried 1234 as per manual Any help in getting this recording again would be appreciated. I found this in the forum Lou19 wrote: I got it, Intellex configuration and hit restore defaults - default password reset to 1234. Hope this helps someone. By the way, my unit is a 2.2.17 version - oldie for sure. Thanks, Lou Good job Lou... Intellex configuration on desktop helps tremendously, doesn't it... Just in case and if you want, you can increase its internal storage up to 320GB by using three 120GB PATA drives... Just make sure that you change the power supply to higher rated and also change/add more system fans (you should be able to add at least 2 more plus power supply 120mm fan). Change all the PATA cables as well... Once done, just configure your new hard drives and double click on "drive config" located on the desktop... and this way you can utilize its maximum capacity. If this system is Deluxe model, you could (if you already do not have it) add CD burner... Good luck.. if you have question on any Intellex matter, let me know... We have a full facility that repairs, maintains and upgrades (dependent on Intellex version and packaging - desktop vs. rack mountable, you can have up to 4.0TB (4000GB) internal storage) of Intellex systems.. and if you need more info, let me know. but how do I get to desktop without the code? other than hacking into the registry startup programs

I did try acronis, purely by coincidence I bought a new hdd for myself a few weeks ago and it came with a free copy ( the license ) I had to download it from there site, I also tried the free easeus but neither saw the drive, hence I used fasttrack to grab the folders from another computer. Unfortunately now bios see the hdd, but the heads just click so looks like its a gonna, and I did ring ADT as AD said they were a local supplier in the UK. However I am still waiting for the line supervisor to ring me back. No shocker there , welcome to Britain lol Probably end up cheaper to buy a whole new digital 16channel DVR. I just thought I could get someone to supply me the intellex software I required. I do have the winnt/system32 folder and a few other bits from the drive before it died. My new hdd does have the windows 2000 os on it and just missing the drivers for the hardware cards, relating to the cctv stuff.

yes I am trying to recover the drive. OR at least the more important parts of the drive as I already did a new install of Windows 2000 with the appropriate drivers for the motherboard. Just got the yellow ? on the trimedia now as I added in the patch for windows 2000 to recognise it from AD, instead of it saying multimedia controller. This one has been upgraded to windows 2000. How painfully slow it is I am currently recovering system32 from WINNT been going 20hrs got 1224 of 2096 files, a total of 124mb from 306mb and another 30hrs to go. I have the WD 160gb hdd in another machine to copy it. I have to put it directly into an IDE port, neither of my caddies ( ide/sata to USB ) will allow me to even see the files. I haven't tried scandisk no I must admit. Very few files actually copy over as is, it shouts an error at me when copying, so using recovering software. no idea why I didn't get a notification saying you posted.

thank you for your lengthy reply I am getting the smart error as I mentioned, but i can see a lot of the files, but as i mentioned getting them back is becoming challenging. Whether they work afterwards that's another matter. I left it all day yesterday and last night recovering the Drivers folders, with the ATi and VACD mode etc in it. I woke to find it had switched off, so not checked what it has recovered yet. 6.45am here time for breakfast first. The model is ADD60026P016P The key is in windows/intellex ? I think I recovered that folder. Of course as you know when programs are installed files get scattered around, so simply copying over the folder won't work i know, but the settings will still be there.
  8. I have a second hand LT unit, the OS HDD died on me, I know i know i should have done a backup of it. I do have access to the American dynamics site but I can't seem to find the intellex software, and the vcad drivers, only the updates. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? I am currently using another unit a sensormatic one, which I know it an earlier model. So failing me not getting the drivers, whats the realistic chances of using the older software on the newer hardware then go through the crossing fingers on all the upgrades, including from windows 8 to window 2k. At this point in time I have the os running on the new hdd, with all the appropriate drivers for hardware chipset etc as per a computer, all I need now is the Philips tri media stuff and I assume the scsi stuff on the cards. I am trying to recover the old drive, but last count said something like 29days, and we all pretty much know if it works at the end of that, even if the drive lasted that long ( SMART ERROR ) would be a miracle. Any help would be appreciated.
  9. indeed 2 sata slots 2 drives 2tb each at £74 a pop a nice few months of storage on there. 3tb a little too expensive at the moment.
  10. I tried the cntrl key didnt seem to work for me, is there a specific time to press it? is it like safe mode in windows 8 where if you miss it you hae to start all over again? I had to use a live cd to get the hdd formatted etc
  11. thank you for the input its already sorted now,i tried a 1.5tb last week in it and ordered a 2tb one. It arrived and i put it in this morning into the sata port
  12. I put a 1.5tb in on one of the sata connectors, but it will be replaced by a 2tb one as soon as mr Amazon brings it. I think we worked out 70 days storage with all the cameras on it Its a 16 cam unit but i think there is only 9 on it Had to mess in bios of course. Pretty tricky to get into the OS i have been using a live cd.
  13. yes i discovered this last night, i did notice however the computer does have sata so instead of putting a small 500gb ide one in I will look at putting a 1.5 / 2tb one in. That should store plenty of days and cameras and alot cheaper too.
  14. wow no replies, i thought this was a popular unit i guess there are so many other there
  15. I am well aware of the additional space frm the external boxes you can buy but i need to know if i add another internal harddrive can this unit use it to store the videos. Essentially its a 160gb hd split so 135gb is the data part. I was hoping to add a 2nd internal 500 or 320gb drive. Can this unit allow writing to both drives? Or it only allows one database to run? So i would have to rip out the 160gb and replace it with a 500gb? From what i see on the net ( old stuff ) seems only a 320gb unit is available unless you buy the external drives. So by the nature of the external racked boxes there must be a way to have the additional storage, or perhaps that is only for the new intellex units. and perhaps they are raided.
