  1. Hi Guys, I am looking to install a 2 camera system in a small store. Remote viewing capability is a must. I do not want to have to go through the trouble of using a static IP and forwarding ports etc unless i absolutely have to. I am familiar with Hikvision and i know they have the Hik Connect feature which you can setup and view the cameras remotely as long as you have an account and an internet connection. Can someone tell me of other brands that are in the same class or close to Hikvision that also has a cloud client function? I think i saw Lorex Flir has one as well but i am not sure about this brand and their reliability. Thanks in advance for all the help.

I am having a similar problem with a kt315 being connected via USB. It says not assigned. The blue heart beat lights flashes 4 times. I tried the above steps but got no joy. I did notice that when the Tx light on the USB module flashes, so does the Rx light on the panel. Does anyone have any ideas? I have set the baud rates to be the same on the port and in the software and I have the correct serial. The status that is seen says controller or module not assigned. Thanks in advance for any help.
  3. It seems as though there is an option to have MPEG and/or MJPEG for the video. Would this affect anything depending on the choice i make?
  4. See attached. CPU usage was fluctuating between 7% and 34% it average is about 15%. When I have it was these 15 cams in view it doesnt even show all of them. The white squares are cams that have shown up which i blanked out, while the remaining cams just say "connected to camname on ip address of server". While this is going on some that are showing blank out to display that msg as well.
  5. My CPU usage seems pretty normal when i look at it. I will try to take a screen shot and post here. When i have a 2x2 view and accessing the server directly i can transition from full to grid screen pretty quickly but the more cameras i have on the grid in say a 4x4 view, it takes a while when transitioning. I currently have all of the cameras set to max resolution as well in the camera properties. Not sure if that makes a difference but if i reduce the resolution the picture quality gets worse.
  6. Hi Guys, I recently installed the Milestone software on an HP Pro Storage video server with 16TB at RAID 5 (13TB usable) with 12GB of RAM. Currently, I have 17 total Axis P3364LV IP cameras and they are powered via a 3524GT Avaya PoE Switch. The problem I am experiencing is that when i am accessing the server directly in the smart client, if i have a view showing all of the cameras it takes a while before I can do anything when transitioning from full screen of one camera back to the grid view showing all of the cameras. I have to wait until a message saying "Connected to camera X on 127.0.0.1:80" disappears from all of the camera screens before I can click around. For remote viewing via remote desktop or by using the smart client on a remote PC over the network it is far worse and really unusable. There isnt much that I can do at all remotely. Is there a way to optimize this somehow to speed it up or something? Please help as the help support is not very helpful. Can anyone assist me with this? Thanks in advance.
  7. Hi all, I have been experiencing trouble getting this camera to work with the system my client has installed. The client currently has the older type bosch ptzs which are the generation 3 cameras that are addressed manually by using a dial. 1 of their cameras have stopped working and now we are trying to install this newer camera which is generation 4. The issue we are experiencing however is that when we install the camera we can view it but we cannot pan tilt or zoom the camera. To address these cameras we had to use the bosch configurator and this was done separately using my laptop via RS232 connection. After i addressed the camera on my laptop i was not only able to see the camera but i was able to pan tilt and zoom it, but for some reason after I attached the camera to the client system i lost the PTZ functionality. All of the cameras on site are using biphase connection and usually in the past when we replaced a cam with the gen 3s we would jus manually set the address and connect using biphase and then it would automatically work. I am really at a lost not as to why its not working. How the wiring is done is that we have the analog camera connected to a fiber receiver (optelecom brand) that the fiber runs to a fiber transmitter (optelecom also) and then into the matrix and then to Pelco DVRs. The client is using software being run using the Indusoft platform (im not sure if drivers or something is required here). If anyone has any ideas please share.
