Empire does not have unique firmware .... Price was a bit high Is there a reason to change firmware ... Do you have a problem I was having issues connecting IP cameras to the system. It kept freezing up. I just started playing with settings on the box and dropped the buffer from 280ms to 200ms and it seems to be working now. This whole process has pissed me off. I like to keep my firmwares up to date due to security holes and features. I got the firmware from another vendor but it wouldn't flash. It is General_DVRxx04HF-X-E_Eng_N_Onvif_V2.608.0000.0.T.20120730 version that works that I got from empire.

Well, I have a ESC-DVR1604HF-U-E and I have been able to get some firmware for that system, but it appears that Dahua makes each firmware unique per vendor from what I am being told. Well my vendor, Empire Security Systems, no longer sells Dahau. So how do I upgrade my $1000 DVR? Pissed at the Vendor and Dahau.

Where would one obtain one of these cards?

I can't for the life of me find one of these cards to add to my system. Any dealers here have a Kodicom KIO-1616 relay card for sale? I want to connect my DVR system to my home automation system.

Buying retail. This is harder than I tought it was going to be. Ok: I want 480 Lines, 30-40 feet IR Night, outdoor, 1/3" ccd 3-4mm. Now what is one that is around 125?

Or even better does anyone have a good recommendation for one that is around 100-125 that is outdoor, wide angle, night led's 30-40'+?

What is the overal difference between a 1/4" 480 and a 1/3" 480?

Those are not the correct answers. I want a different "cheaper" answer OK, seriously, now what do I need, that wont break the bank?

Nevermind. I am an idiot. The port for remote admin on my router was the same as the DVR. ARgggggghhhh
