  1. I know most people do not set this up but I have to customers unhappy with hikvision setup I've installed (NVR and cameras). I setup image snapshot but it sends so many false positives it doesn't play nice What options are out there? Dropcam or Logitech alert alternatives?
  2. For the life of me I can't seem to figure this one out. Have a client with Milestone that has about 11 cameras. Every time they connect they have to add the camera back to the view. Their has to be a way to save a default view? The tech told me under options and to select Load Last Opened and it doesn't work just defaults to 8 camera's. Anyone use this software?
  3. couldn't you mount a plastic enclosure behind it and screw the camera to it? Or can you drill a bigger hole in the cement and put the female coupler in the wall and mount camera over hole?
  4. seems like Geovision support is very limited. What is my next option for a paid software?
  5. Hoping someone can help. I have a client that a previous computer tech sold them a bunch of Geovision camera and Geovision NVR software. The NVR software is horrible and I want to replace with something else. They budget right now is low so I hoped to use BlueIris but any time I add a camera I am getting No Signal. I was hoping for some other software to use that would be more flexible. Doesn't need to be free, but needs to be cheap enough. Even if it only records for a week that would be fine. I wanted to use Milestone but the 8 camera limit is an issue. They have 12 cameras. Any ideas? Or anyway to get Blue Iris working?
  6. I am installing some interior and exterior camera's. Some exterior locations I will be mounting on the soffit closest to the roof line. This is a two story house and I want to see detail on the deck on the first floor (~20ft off the deck). Will I still be able to see any detail or will I be very limited? I will be using Hikvision 1.3 or 3MP camera (dome/bullet). Same situation on the inside. I have one location in the living room that will be mounted on the ceiling. The living room is open to the second floor, will it be too high to see detail?
  7. What pre packaged NVR do you all like? Looking for basic solutions for clients. Currently use Hikvision NVR with Hikvision camera and functionality is great. However I have some scenarios where I need to replace a PC based NVR that isn't working and rather go with an off the shelf unit. Looked at Exacq but all I did was looked.
  8. Forgot to mention, I have tried searching and even remember seeing that thread, but my search results haven't come up with it. Anyone else remember it?
  9. So was mounting a Hikvision mini down today and had very limited clearance to stuff the dongle behind the wooden shingles. I put a screw through the dongle plug. I cut the end off it and hoping I can find a pin out to either put a cat5e end or a keystone. Anyone have the pin out? I have green, yellow, white, orange, blue, purple, brown and gray. Thanks!
  10. Thanks, Amy nighttime pictures?
  11. Can this be mounted on a wall instead of ceiling? I know some camera's can't do that and have to be mounted from ceiling.
  12. On bigger installs I like that Dell 10/100 POE Switch. Bit more expensive but next business day replacement and lifetime support.
  13. These look awesome. Just what I have been waiting for for the house. Do these have a dongle or direct cat5e connection? How is the onboard storage working out? Can you view all the local storage from one spot or do you need to poll each camera?
  14. Can you post some pictures ?
  15. I had the same thought. See what your distributor will get for and let me know. I am registered with ADI Global. I was hoping to find unit on Amazon to order just so I can test. I am not 100% on NVR software. Thinking of Blue Iris.
