    Rural Ranch Wireless Design Question

Try out the Ubiquiti Nanobeams 5Ghz. Setup as Point to multipoint.
  2. What info are you looking for? I want to know pricing, capabilities, spec sheets etc. Enough knowledge for a company owner to switch over to their line of products.
  3. I've emailed two different reps at Avigilon (interested in switching over from Mobotix, Axis, and ACTi) and have not received a reply from them in over two weeks...so much for them. ACTi at least gets back to me same day. Even had an Engineer at ACTi respond directly with custom firmware written just for my application to solve a problem. I guess Avigilon is doing so well, they don't need any new business?
  4. I've had good luck providing remote access to managed cisco POE switches. This way I can turn the POE port on and off to power cycle a camera.
  5. Instead of arguing, why don't you go and buy 8 dash cams and install them on the side of your house. Come back a year later and tell us how you saved a ton of money installing the dash cams and that they provided everything you needed from a professional surveillance system. Prove us wrong...

    ACTi ENR-1000 + KCM7911

I have tried the new firmware and it fixes the mobile app connection issues. But right now I am having troubles exporting video files. Does anyone have any suggestions?
  7. I've found the ENR-1000 firmware to be missing quite a few options from NVR 3.0. I have a problem that I hope someone can help me soon. I have a KCM-7911 connected to the ENR-1000. KCM-7911 settings: Single stream: H.264 , 1920x1080, Frame rate 12. I have it all working and can view the camera through the NVR using internet explorer. When I try and connect to the NVR using the ipod touch, I don't get a connection to the NVR. The ipod touch successfully connects to a GNR-2000, NVR 3,0 running on windows 7. ENR-1000 is having troubles it seems. Anything special about the ENR-1000, am I missing a setting?
  8. If a customer insists on a low priced "quality" camera system I point them toward "the other guys" or Costco. If a client is happy with "good enough", I point them toward "the other guys". No way would I ever be caught recommending an Analog system to a client. It makes no sense. I love my clients amazement when they view their 5MP 1080p resolution cameras on their computer monitors. Happy clients.

    ACTI KCM-8211

I'm planning on replacing a Pelco speed dome with the 8211. The existing Pelco is about 300ft away from the power supply. They are powering the Pelco with 24VAC but the 8211 is 12VDC. 12VDC is too much of a voltage drop. How would you guys power this Speed dome at 300ft away? The Dome is at the end of a dock on the water, so it's a challenge getting a local power supply. Is there a high powered POE injector compatible with the new 8211?
  10. If I'm using POE to feed the Acti 7311 and 5611, do I still get the rated temperatures? It doesn't say on the data sheets. It doesn't seem like the 731 and 5611 have heaters in them like the 7811 did.
