Geovision cards and video (graphics) cards... Which one?

We've always used cheaper video cards. I usually look for two things, 1= fan on video card 2= supports directdraw overlay for fullscreen viewing (which most of them do) Never been too fussed about them, customer hardly notices the difference anyway.

Anyone know how to make a time laspe movie from a GEOVISION?

How about giving the customer a multiplexer and connect a VCR, put the loops back into your geo. However, You'd have to manually hit record at random times in the day.
  3. You won't be able to use the smart function, because there is no need!! You have a GV800 4 way= 100/4= 25fps, which is realtime. Not sure what the specs are for the GV1240, havent used these cards yet but i am assuming it is the same reason. hope this helps

    aVTECH 773W

Yes, you can get it from most online retailers. If you're in the trade give me a PM and i'll send you the details for the main distributor in the UK.

ALL BRITISH POSTERS PLEASE REPORT IN!

Thanks to the guys on this forum, this place is more like an online family, lol. We were quite lucky we decided to go London on Wednesday rather than yesterday to finish of a CCTV Job.

ALL BRITISH POSTERS PLEASE REPORT IN!

Very sad news, still not sure what it is, just listening to the radio and apparently it was some sort of power surge causing a blast in the tubes. Also something about 3 bombs in a bus. Total confusion around here, mobile networks were down couple hours ago. Bunch of a**holes whoever di this

    Dead pixels?

We've never experienced dead pixels with security cameras, not that i know of. I know its commonly associated with TFT monitors

    BOSCH.. Need Urgent Feedback!!!!!

The support we get from Bosch is great, used their CCTV products on 2 jobs, not a problem but only because the customer had loads of $$ and specified bosch . We use their intrusion products almost daily, great quality and we've been using it for ages. Overall don't think the price of their products weigh up the features they're offering, support is great but thats really about it.

    Multiple monitors again!!!!!

What cable did you use for the Cat5 extenders. Try using Shielded Twisted pair and connect the shield to the Dsub screw so they share a common ground. This should eliminate the inteference and you should get a higher quality image. Also what Cat5 extenders are you using? You might want to go for more expensive ones such as minicom. Either way, i wouldnt want to run bulky VGA cables, that can be a real pain especially when you're running more than one.

    Hardware compresion???

Geo cards use software compression. However i think the new hybrid card uses hardware

GEO 6.1 SOFTWARE WORKING WITHOUT S1 CHIP

It could be beta software, beta software does not require the S1 chip to run

    AverMedia NV7000

Very nice pic quality baywatch. What resolution can you record with avermedia? Im guessing you've got broaddband, whats the upload speed? video seems very slow compared to a geovision
  14. You don't need all those Wildcard, you just need 80, 4550 and 5550 for webcam to work. We rarely require the other ports unless the customer asks for audio control in which case we add them to the list. Try webcam on a Local network before you try connect remotely.
  15. I think scott is trying to say you need all those ports you mentioned before for webcam to work you definitely need 80, 4550 and 5550 (4550 and 5550 are for video and data). 3550 is for audio i think and im not to sure about remote desktop, but 3389 sounds about right.
