    GV8.2 to 8.5 upgrade issues

My advice, do an FBR of the settings and reinstall windows. It doesn't take that long and ensures everythign is up to date and running smoothly. The FBR works pretty good.
  2. Good plan, there are not really an HD covert cameras out there. Let us know if you have any success.

GV800b not compatible with DH67BLB3 Intel motherboard?

I believe it is a bit of a "Conspiricy" that these new motherboards don't work with the older cards. I have several customers who have had systems die and when we replace the PC it wouldn't work, after a TON of hours or troubleshooting and tech support with USAvision, we were told that the older cards (PCI, not the newer PCI-x) will not work with newer chipsets and windows 7 64 bit and the solution was to throw away the perfectly good Geovision cards and buy a new one. I think this is garbage, Geovision is just choosing not to make working drivers so we have to buy more outdated analog capture cards, much like they did a few years ago. I found some older boards and cpus and they all work fine with the cards. I know analog is on the way out but making customers buy more capture cards is just not fair when the hardware is still fine and in some cases only a couple years old.
  4. So just an update. Tried some newer AMD boards .... FAIL. Looking at older 775 boards now. Very frustrating they don't have drivers that work for modern motherboards. I am surprised how willing everyone is to accept this as "ok". To me it seems like they are forcing us to buy more outdated analog camera cards just to keep existing customers up and running.
  5. So after spending a lot fo time with tech support because new systems with older cards keep crashing, I have finally come to the conclusion, and this is directly from Geovision: All cards that are not of the B type or newer will not work on any of the newer generation motherboards using Intel chipsets with Sandy Bridge. So basiclly if you have a perfectly working 2 year old GV-800 card, you can not use it with a new computer. What a scam. Then when I asked Geovision about using these cards with newer AMD systems, they said they do not reccommend AMD, only Intel. Funny, you can only recommend Intel (which is NOT compatible). Seems a little bit rediculous to me. So my question is has anyone tried these older cards with newer AMD systems? I am not talking really old cards either, THIS APPLIES to any cards over a year old that can still run version 8.5. I was told that the easiest way to fix the systems was to buy new cards at $750 a pop when the old ones work just fine. Scam. Just like the S1/SP1 chipsets a few years ago that forced people to buy new cards. Anyways if anyone else can shed some light on this I would appreciate it. Thanks.
  6. Still no progress on a Blackberry App that works with current Blackberries. Does anyone else find they have a growing list of customers with these phones who have been waiting a long time for a working BB app? I keep telling customers they have to wait, but I really don't understand why Geo doesn't just get it working either with an app or right through the BB 6.0 browser.
  7. Version 4.5 is pretty outdated software for the BB.
  8. I posted below about not working on the Blackberries, but Geo also doesn't work, by default on android phones and on a Mac computer. Anyone know a good reason why? WHY does geo not have working apps for these systems? Not EVERYONE uses a Windows computer (Mutliview doesn't even work on a netbook due to screen resolution being less then 1024x768) to access their cameras. I just kind of find it frustrating because 10 years ago we started using Geo because they were on the cutting edge and it really seems like they are falling to the wayside in terms of cross platform viewing. EVERY cheap cheap cheap DVR can be viewed from an Iphone,BB or mac. Geo, please have a rep respond and let us know that these issues are being worked on.
  9. When I talked to Geo, they said they do not support the Blackberry OS 5 which is why all these phones don't work. But now BB is out with OS 6 and there is still no sign of an app. It just stinks that a $199 no name DVR from China can work on a BB and Geo can't. Also I have tried the following BB models: Curve, Curve 2, Bold 9000, Bold 9700, Storm and Torch on all the major carriers in canada using different ports (Bell, Rogers, Telus) and none work.
  10. OK, I posted this in another thread but maybe this will gather more attention to a major issue and then geovision will do somethign about it. I am STILL waiting for a Blackberry app that actually works. Its been over a year since Geovision actually had a working Blackberry app. In canada all the business owners have Blackberries or Iphones. Sure Android/Windows phones are cool, and it's great they made an app, but the people who actually OWN the business's with camera systems and who actually want to watch their cameras all use either an Iphone or Blackberry. Geovision, are you listening???????? MAKE a working Blackberry app, and one that works on their NEW software version not the old one.

    Geo on a BlackBerry

I'm located in Canada and have tried to get 4 different Blackberry's to work with the BBview with no luck. 2 of the phones were on Rogers and 2 are on Telus. Has anyone else got this program working? I always get a TCP error, even on wifi. Thanks.

    Geovision Management

The VSM server will do everything you just mentioned. Cheap too.

Is there a problem with DMMultiview 8.3?

I have found the same thing. Sometimes if you give it more time to connect it will work better but I have had several complaints from customers about it. One customer could never get more then 1 camera to connect, rebooting his modem fixed that.
